We had a blast at the Bradford Roots festival on Saturday 18th January 2020! We performed at the Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford-on-Avon, a lovely venue with great acoustics and a friendly audience. We played a variety of tunes, from rock classics to movie themes, and even some festive songs to warm up the winter night.
We started with Cars by Gary Numan, a catchy synth-pop song that got everyone tapping their feet. Then we switched gears with Under Pressure by Queen and David Bowie, a powerful anthem that showcased our instrumental skills. Next, we played Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears, a catchy 80s hit that resonated well with the audience.
We then moved on to some film soundtracks, starting with On her Majesty’s Secret Service and We have all the Time in the World by John Barry, two iconic James Bond themes that made us feel like spies. We followed up with Our Mutual Friend by Divine Comedy, a beautiful song by Neil Hannon who also performed for the hit film The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. We then played Where Are We Now by David Bowie, a poignant song that he wrote after his heart attack in 2004.We ended our set with some fun and upbeat songs: Fairytale of New York by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl, a festive favourite; Mission Impossible by Lalo Schifrin, a thrilling theme that made us feel like action heroes; and I Am the Walrus by The Beatles, a psychedelic masterpiece that showcased our creativity and humour. We had so much fun playing for you and we hope you enjoyed our performance as much as we did. Thank you for your support and applause. We are looking forward to playing for you again soon!
